Enhanced Enjoyment Exploring the Trails of the
Chattahoochee Nature Center.
The intent of the gathering is to have rare social time with Oscar and Cindy and to be with one another. Take time before we meet to explore this amazing place!
The Center opens at 12 noon and closes at 5:00 PM. The Qollasuyu Council will be meeting with Oscar and Cindy when they arrive until 3:00 PM. You are welcome to join us earlier if we are not in circle. Bring drinks and snacks.

The Chattahoochee Nature Center is located on the Chattahoochee River in Roswell and sits on a beautiful site comprised of 127 acres of native plants and gardens that showcase the beauty of Georgia. Our property includes a River Boardwalk, Discovery Center, wetland demonstration gardens and woodland trails that are home to over 50 species of injured, non-releasable wildlife. For nearly 40 years, the Nature Center has continued to grow and reach out to citizens as a place to explore new ideas and expand the awareness of the natural world.

Etowah Mounds was home to several thousand Native Americans from 1000 A.D. to 1550 A.D., this 54-acre site protects six earthen mounds, a plaza, village site, borrow pits and defensive ditch. Etowah Mounds is the most intact Mississippian Culture site in the Southeast.
Make this a weekend of events! NOTE: The distance between Etowah Mounds and the Chattahoochee Nature Center is 51 min (34.6 mi) via I-75 N.
Come join us for any part of the day!
Explore on your own and/or gather with us at 12 noon for a picnic lunch.
* Primitive Tools and Weapons Day (10 AM to 4 PM)
Watch the re-creation of ancient Native American tools and weapons. Demonstrators will explain how to make, use, and care for things that were very important for survival thousands of years ago.
* Join us for dinner at the City Cellar and Loft Restaurant.
We will make reservations.

* Torchlight Tour (6 PM to 9 PM)
Step back in time at the Etowah Indian Mounds. Come follow staff and volunteers through the torch-lit site for a nighttime tour of the mounds. Stop for a while and listen to some stories by a campfire near the river before heading back to the museum. Guests who have visited the site earlier in the day may receive a discount by showing their receipt from earlier in the day.

The site opens at 9:00 AM. Arrive anytime in the morning, visit the museum, enjoy the Primitive Weapons and Tools event, explore the site on your own.
PICNIC at 12 noon. Look for the diagonal rainbow striped Qollasuyu Flag. Bring your own lunch.
Visit the museum, enjoy the event, tour the site as a group and walk the nature trail by the river.
DINNER - eat together at The City Cellar and Loft followed by The Torchlight Tour.
Drive to Roswell, GA in the morning./span>
